About Talfahrt
Talfahrt (German for "the journey downriver") is an independent trip-planning guide to the Middle Rhine gorge between Koblenz and Rüdesheim. It exists because most coverage of this stretch of river either sells a specific cruise package or treats all 40 castles as equally worth your time, when in practice a handful genuinely reward a stop and the rest are best seen from the water.
What this site is not
Talfahrt is not affiliated with Köln-Düsseldorfer (KD), any castle operator, any winery, or any hotel mentioned on this site. Nothing here is a paid placement. Every fact about castle history, vineyard gradients, and cruise schedules was checked against publicly available sources at the time of writing.
